LumberKings add first baseman from High Desert, pitcher from Everett
Clinton, IA -The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Seattle Mariners have announced the additions of first-baseman Ian Bladergroen and left-hander Jonathan Hesketh to the roster. To make room, infielder Jetsy Extrano has been sent back to the Arizona League Mariners while outfielder Denny Almonte has been transferred to the disabled list, retroactive to August 1.
Bladergroen was signed by the Mariners prior to this season out of independent ball. The Chino Hills, CA native hit .264 with 17 doubles, 11 home runs and 46 RBI in 79 games with the Mavericks this season.
Hesketh was Seattle’s 20th round pick out of the University of New Mexico in the 2009 June draft.
