Game Three in Cedar Rapids
Momentum is on Clinton’s side after the LumberKings evened the best-of-three first-round playoff series with an 8-2 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Perfect Game Field last night. Right-hander Yoervis Medina played the role of stopper with two runs over 6.0 innings in the victory and received support from James Jones (3-for-4, HR, 2 RBI), Vinnie Catricala (1-for-5, HR, RBI), Mario Martinez (3-for-5, RBI), Henry Contreras (1-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI) amongst others.

- Cerione RBI single 9.9.10.mp3
- Noriega RBI single 9.9.10.mp3
- Catricala Solo HR 9.9.10.mp3
- Jones Solo HR 9.9.10.mp3

One of these two teams begins their offseason tonight. The LumberKings have kept Midwest League post-season All-Star Erasmo Ramirez (10-4, 2.97) waiting in the wings for this pivotal start, he will take the hill for the second time against the Kernels. Cedar Rapids originally planned to start left-hander Stephen Locke tonight, but have now opted to go with left-hander Tyler Kehrer (6-5, 4.56) instead. We’ll see if that move works or backfires for them.

Holy Toledo! What a great two games by the Kings! First Medina pitches a wonderful game last night, and Erasmo follows it up with a gem of his own.
How about that Bischoff kid? I’ve been tracking him down in Pulaski and thought he showed promise, but I didn’t think he would be THAT dominant in his debut! Yaaaaa buddy!
Great job of calling the game, again, Dave. This season is far from over!
